The Laminate Flooring Ratings Will Point You In The Right Direction For Purchasing A New Laminate Floor
When you are in the process of looking forward to purchasing a new laminate floor for your home, you will find that there are Laminate Flooring Ratings. These ratings will tell you the durability of the flooring and its main purpose. The rating system goes between AC1 up to AC5. The AC ratings that you will see were created by the Association of European Producers of Laminate Flooring or EPLF. This AC rating consists of a set of tests that will test the specific floor on how it holds up to certain conditions. These tests include such areas of the floors' durability when it comes to its defense against abrasion, how it resists impacts, stains, burns, and furniture marks.
These tests also include testing the floors edges from swelling. When these tests are complete, it will give the Laminate Flooring Ratings for the floors that were tested. All laminate floors that you see on the market today will have these Laminate Flooring Ratings. There are many different situations where the type of floor you get must have the durability that is consistent with the traffic and use of the floor.
The AC1 rating that you will see is the lowest of the Laminate Flooring Ratings. This flooring should only be used in light traffic areas where there is not too much of a chance for it to get damaged. The AC5 rating is the highest of the Laminate Flooring Ratings. These floors are mainly used in commercial settings where there is a lot more traffic and where the floor will take on a lot more abuse. There are also punishment classes that are included with these ratings as well. They are described in number form. 21 is moderate punishment, 22 is general punishment and 23 is heavy punishment.
Within the Laminate Flooring Ratings, all of these numbers are also differentiated by rather they are residential or commercial. A 21 moderate AC1 tag of the Laminate Flooring Ratings would mean that you will be purchasing a floor that is mainly used for a private guest room, study, or bedroom because there is not much traffic in these rooms. However, a 32 general AC4 commercial rating would mean that you will be purchasing a floor that can be installed in an office, boutique, restaurant or cafe due to the high traffic there will be. You can learn more about these ratings by reviewing several different websites on the Internet.
